Light / Lyric Baritone

This classification requires little explanation. Light/Lyric baritones should have a warm, beautiful tone, and don’t typically have a ton of “bite” or “edge” to their voices.

The clip below is sung by Strephon in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Iolanthe. In it, Strephon greets his mother, a fairy, and joyfully tells her that he is to be married today. Listen for a light, agile voice. Sung in English.
