Nashville Opera ON TOUR

Our vibrant Opera On Tour program is perennially sold out.  Last year’s presentation was John Davies’ Billy Goats Gruff, an operatic twist on the literary classic that tackles the issue of bullying and promotes the power of kindness.  Check out the inspiring student art and essays below!

Our student-friendly 40-minute productions are sung in English.  The tour goes directly into schools with full sets, costumes, audience interaction, four professional opera singers, and a pianist – all members of Nashville Opera’s Mary Ragland Young Artist Program.

Participating schools receive an extensive study guide to prepare for the performance and supplement learning in the classroom.  Schools may also request a post-performance question-and-answer session free of charge.

This program aligns with Tennessee Curriculum Standards for Music, Theatre, Dance, Visual Arts, Reading, Writing, History, Social Studies, Math and Sciences.

Our 2015 children’s opera will be John Davies’ Jack and the Beanstalk!
