HCA/TRI-STAR

Nashville Opera ON TOUR

Sid the Serpent

Who Wanted to Sing

Perfect for Elementary Audiences

Let your students experience opera without even leaving your campus.  HCA/TriStar and Nashville Opera ON TOUR present Sid the Serpent Who Wanted to Sing.  Sid the Serpent is a dancing circus snake, who desperately wants to sing.  Join Sid and his circus friends as they travel to Rome, London and New York to learn different singing styles.  It isn’t until Sid returns home that he discovers his own unique voice.

This student friendly 45-minute production is sung in English and comes directly to your school.  The production features full sets and costumes, audience interaction, four professional opera singers and a pianist, all members of Nashville Opera’s Mary Ragland Young Artist Program.

Participating schools will receive an extensive study guide to not only prepare for the performance, but supplement learning in the classroom.  Schools may also request a post-performance workshop free of charge.

This program aligns with Tennessee Curriculum Standards for Music, Theatre, Dance, Visual Arts, Reading, Writing, History, Social Studies, Math and Sciences
