The Noah Liff Opera Center

Our door is always open!

In April 2009 Nashville Mayor Karl Dean presided as swordfighters slashed the ribbon at the grand opening of the Noah Liff Opera Center, Nashville Opera’s first permanent home in its 30-year history.

A spectacular 26,000-square-foot, multi-purpose venue, the Liff Center won the Urban Land Institute 2009 Award for Design Excellence and had judges saying: “The Noah Liff Opera Center is the best kind of example of a nonprofit institutional adaptive reuse right in a neighborhood.  You can already see the impact it’s having...It is a catalyst for further reinvestment.”

With its versatile Opera Studio, Ragsdale Family Grand Lobby, Sue and Earl Swensson Patron Room, Frist Board Room, Grand Staircase, Bovender Reception Lobby, Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund Resource Center, Bettye Johnson Allen Balcony, Martin Green Room, two kitchens, practice rooms, and a costume shop, the Liff Center is already proving to be an important resource for the people of this community.  In fact, in 2010 the Liff Center graciously opened its doors to welcome sister arts organizations as they were displaced by the historic flood.
