LITTLE RED'S MOST UNUSUAL DAY
Introduce your students to live opera with John Davies’ fun retelling of a classic children’s fairy tale, right in your school.
Little Red’s Most Unusual Day by John Davies is a family-friendly 40-minute production sung in English and set to music from operas by Rossini and Offenbach.
Picture our hero, Forest Ranger Dudley, singing about caring for his beloved woodsy environment to the tune of The Barber of Seville’s famous “Largo al factotum!” Brimming with fun, quirky characters and lively, familiar tunes, it’s a joyful introduction to opera that’s family-friendly, playful, and full of life lessons: kindness, courage, and doing the right thing
Nashville Opera brings full sets and costumes and a cast of four professional opera singers and a pianist, all members of Nashville Opera’s Mary Ragland Emerging Artist Program.
BONUS: Schools may also request a free 10-minute question-and-answer session with the artists after the performance. All participating schools receive a study guide and an accessibility toolkit for teachers to prepare students for the performance.

Did you know proceeds from ALL specialty license plates go to the Arts?
The arts are getting cut from state budgets across America. In Tennessee, we are fortunate to have an additional source of funding. The extra revenue we receive from specialty and personalized license plate sales has been key to our survival. More than 70% of the money used to fund the 800+ grants from the Tennessee Arts Commission last year was from the sale of these specialty license plates.
